16!

Hi Everyone!

Hope you all are having a great Valentines!  My sweetie surprised me with a pink frosted doughnut with heart sprinkles, so I was a happy camper.  He's also going to make me dinner tomorrow night since we both weren't up to eating much tonight.

I made this card for my youngest who will be 16 on Wednesday (I can't believe how the time just flies)!  Since he is away at school I sent it along with a care package of goodies that he can share with all of his friends.  He'll be home at the end of this month for a visit, so we can do the grand celebration then!

I have to say, I had a really hard time coming up with a card idea for him, I'm still not sure if I made the right choice, it may be a little too cutesy for him. It has nothing to do with the fact that I don't want him to grow up any more than he already has...LOL..yeah that's it.  Since I was having such a hard time coming up with an idea, I turned to a few challenges for some inspiration (I'll list them below)  I hope he likes it, even if it is a bit too cute!  :0)  Let me know what you all think.

One of my goals this year is to enter more challenges and when blogger or website lets you use your card for more than just their challenge it makes life a little easier.  So this card is being submitted for the following challenges (in alphabetical manor):

A Baby is...

I went to my friend Heidi's Baby Shower yesterday and came home wanting a baby!  I can't have anymore babies, but the cute things they have now are just adorable!!!!! Oh, and she got so many things for little Colin, she left with 2 cars packed!  I'm so happy for her!!!  Anyway this is the card I made for her.  She loved it and I hope you do as well!

Now I know that I need some help with taking pictures, I have what I think is a nice camera, but I just can't seem to capture my cards as I'd like them too.

Anyway, I know you can't ready any on the card, so the front says "Sweet Baby Colin".  The inside wording is my own mixture of greetings from a card book I have.  It says...

A Baby is ...
Smiles and laughter and coos
Wonder and softness and sweet lullabies,
Beauty that shines like the starlight above.
Fresh fallen from the heavens
Sent for you to love...

I love it and I'm really happy with how my card turned out.

Recipe:  DCWV Textured Cardstock, the patterned paper is "Boy Mosaic" by Rene' Lingren

The baby face is DC and cut at 1.75.  I hid all the features so I could use my new Peachy Keen Stamps! (yeah hurray!) I also used some chalk for his little cheeks and for shading. The little curly cue of hair is made from brown Making Memories wire.

The moon is from Pooh and cut at 1.75, the stars are from Paisley and cute at .88, .75 and .50.

I used my Swiss Dots cuttle bug folder and the white fiber I used actually feels like terry cloth, it's from EK Sucess and called "Fun Fibers".

GILBY JUST LOVES COMMENTS...HIS TAIL JUST WAGS AWAY!!!

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY,
Wendy (aka, Roo & Gilby's Craftster)
