FATHER'S DAY

Hi Everyone!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend & all the your loved ones had a great Father's Day!
I was going to share these with you yesterday, but I never got around to it...very busy weekend!

The first card is one I made my dad, I got it in the mail a little late, so I was worried that he wouldn't get in time, but when I spoke with yesterday I was relieved to hear that he had gotten it & loved it! :)

I used my copics to color in the Digi (Dustin Pike) w/my Copics & used some Glossy Accents for the cape

I didn't have any Father's Day Sentiments, so I made my own

The 2nd card Gilby made for his Daddy, I think it turned out really cute, let us know what you think.
The card shape was a Freebie from Scraptastical Kreations, Gilby entered it in their FB Challenge
The Sentiment is from MCT, I didn't have any Baseball paper, so we made our own on the computer.
Created the sentiment on the computer as well, Gilby is a Digi, but unfortunately we can't remember where it came from though

Gilby & I love your comments...his tail just wags away when he sees me smile!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

PROUD MOM, REFLECTION, RAK & ANNUAL CARD

Hi Everyone!

Feels like forever since I blogged & shared a project with you all! Blogger sure has changed, not sure I'm liking it, but will see, as Gilby & I hope to blog & share our projects more often now that things have quieted down a bit.

My youngest just finished his Junior year about a week ago & I couldn't be happier to have him home for the summer, just wish I didn't have to share him & we could have the whole summer together!

He had a very tough year from the classes he took, sports, family issues & the loss of one of his best friends, but he managed to get through incredibly well. They have an Awards Ceremony at the end of every school year & the parents are notified by e-mail when their son's receive an award, but they don't tell you what the award is for & the boys don't know ahead of time if they are getting one or not. I'm sooo proud to say that he got an award & scholarship $ for next years tuition for having the 3rd highest GPA of the Junior Class!!! I
was soooo excited when they called out his name, I gave a "woot, woot" before I was technically supposed to clap, lol. I couldn't contain myself I teared up & was grinning at the same time, Brandon has always been smart & gotten good grades, but this was extra special this year. Maybe because of the tough year he had or maybe because his mom (me) did not do well in school at all, mostly because I skipped! Shhh, don't tell him!

It's hard to believe that next year he will be a Senior & the college search begins (thank goodness he doesn't want to go in the service like his brother did or go to a Military College)!Man oh man where did all the time go? I don't like it though, not at all, call me selfish, but I want more time with him as a kid! The past 4 years have been really hard, it's like he's already in college. Not being able to spend everyday or every week or even every month with him & then we he is able to come home, having to split that time between between his dad & it's really hard for me.
I guess there is a trade off though because he has turned into such a wonderful young man, & I know that his future holds so much promise!

I wanted to share a few pictures of him at a LAX game we got to go to, The Mother's Day Parade & The Awards Ceremony. Should have brought my camera rather than using my phone, as I'm sure they would have turned out better. Then I'll get to his annual end of the school year card I made.
This one was shot by one of the other mother's
This one is hard to see, he's the one to the right with the white hat holding the Company Flag, which has a B on it for Bravo (the Company he was in).

I did have some pictures of me with him, but I look horrible & I'm pretty self conscious about sharing pictures of myself.

Okay, so finally on to his card, as part of the title of this post I put RAK, well that is because of Miss Regina Easter  (her blog) from The Cutting Cafe'  or you can click on her blinkie to the left side of this page (her website where she designs wonderful SVG's, etc)! She was sooo kind to design the card for me, as I was in a time crunch & I knew welding the letters together to make the shape of the card would take me forever, so I asked Regina & she quickly & kindly said yes! I can't thank you enough Regina! Oh & btw, he loved it!
I used my Cameo & MTC software to cut out the base & letters of the card created by the oh so Fab Miss Regina. Everything else was cut with the Cameo from the Silhouette shop or from MTC except for the Football, Lacrosse Stick & the word "Junior", those were all stickers I had on hand from other years, oh & I colored a toothpick to make the flag (almost an exact replica..lol). As I said before, he loved it, which made me very happy!

I know, a 17 yr old jock who loves his mom's cards & thinks she should work for Hallmark..lol is a "Good a Really Good Thing"!  :-)

Gilby & I love comments...his little tail just wags away when he sees me smile!

Thanks for stopping by!

BACK IN MY CRAFT ROOM "GIT-R-DONE"

Hi Everyone!

I finally got my craft mojo back & spent some time in my craft room this weekend. As most of you know, my family has been through a lot lately, so I was happy when I felt the craft bug this weekend, as I haven't crafted since before Christmas.
Before I get on to my project, just wanted to give you a little update on everyone. Since both of my sisters are named Tammy & they both are fighting different kinds of cancer from now on I'm going to refer to them as Tammy (Breast Cancer) & Tamera (Brain Cancer). Tammy is still recuperating from the first part of her reconstructive surgery, unfortunately she's still in pain & very tired, more so than she had anticipated. Tamera started chemo & radiation this past week & is tolerating it fairly well, the good thing is that she's not in pain right now. Being the little sis, I've looked up to them all my life & seeing how strong they have been over the past month just makes me so proud! Gilby hasn't had a fever is a # of days now & appears to be getting back to his puppy self, it's so good see him running around & hearing his bark. We are still concerned about his breathing & the thickening around part of his heart, but for now, we don't want to put his little body through anymore tests at least for the time being.

Ok, so on to my project. This is a very Belated Birthday card for my BIL (Tammy's husband).
He is really into Nascar Racing, so when I saw this image on the Dude Time Doodles, I knew I had to use it. I thought of the "Git-R-Done", but hubby came up with the inside sentiment, which I think is perfect!
I used my new Cameo & MTC to create the Circle Card, then used Nestabilities for the layers.
You can't really tell unless you click on the picture but I used "Diamond Plate" CB Folder on the Black card stock & distressed it with sand paper & then rubbed some Platinum Embossing Ink all over it. Used Copic Markers & Silver Metallic Gel Pen to color the image.
The font is "Apple Boy BTN"

I'm entering this into the following Challenges:
Cards for Men~#2 "Boys & their Toys"
Crafty Bloggers Network~#10 "Distressing"  (Sanding/Inking)
Celebrate the Occasion~#47 "Masculine Birthday"

ROUTE 22..A HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY CARD

Hi Everyone!
Hope you all had a Happy New Years Day & that all your resolutions are in full throttle! LOL
I'm not one for New Years Resolutions, because I always seem to fail (it's always about losing weight & exercising). There is one that I plan to do though & that is to craft more/post more often, but not let it get in the way of family time & responsibilities. So, I think I'm doing pretty good  so far on this 2nd day of January!

I actually made this card for my nephew a couple of months ago, just never got around to posting it.  How old do you think he turned???...22???...You guessed it right!!! LOL

You can't really tell, because the base is black, but it's a shaped card
I used the weld feature on my gypsy to create the card & the hide/contour to remove the 66. The cart is Nifty Fifties.
I used Black Enamel Accents on the 22 (Something to Celebrate Cart) & the outside
& inside dots. I popped the white part of the card from the black to give it dimension & I used some bakers twine. The card stock is American Crafts.
The inside sentiment is my own (I crack myself up with the things I can come up with) LOL
I printed it on my computer-it took a few tries to get it lined up just right.

We celebrated his belated Birthday along with my niece's on Thanksgiving, everyone, including him got a kick out of his card. With a 22yrd old guy it's kind of hard to make a handmade card that they would like, so I happy that he liked it so much. I'll share the card I made for my niece sometime this week.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!! AND SOME CHALLENGES

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are all having a nice Father's Day whether it be spending the day with your loved ones, talking to them or just thinking about them! When I spoke with my dad this morning, it sounded like he was going to have a great day just doing what he loves & that's Entarcia (wood working). He was happy that my mom made him eggs benedict for breakfast & she was making steak & baked potatoes for dinner (both sound soo yummy, but I'm on a diet). Was great talking to him, because he's not much a phone person, but I knew today would be a little different...it took him longer to say "let me hand you over to your mother". LOL, that's just one of the things that I love about him though!!!

Here is the card I made for him, followed my the card that Gilby I made for my hubby!!! Didn't realize it until after I made my dad's card that I had used the same image last year & the same paper line. I hope he doesn't notice when he gets it. Yep, I said tomorrow, I thought for sure he would have received it by Saturday, since I mailed it on Tuesday (he's in WA St. & I live in VA). Guess I'm going to have to start sending things a week in advance, I'll remember this next month when it's his birthday. Any hoodle-hoo, he'll be surprised tomorrow!!!

My hubby loved his card, also probably had something to do with how silly Gilby was acting!!!
Gilby was sooo funny, my hubby &  I both had wished we had a camera. When it was time to give him his card I called Gilby over to the couch, well he was soo excited when he saw that we were giving daddy a card! I told him to give it to daddy & as I was handing it to my hubby, Gilby snatched it away in his mouth & started to give it to me!!!!! He did this like 3 times!!! LOL, my hubby &  I were cracking up, it was hysterical!!! Even when typing this now, it still makes me laugh!!!
For as long as I can remember, my dad has had a Mustache, so I thought this would be a fun idea! I have a picture of him (I was just a baby), where he was wearing a fake "handlebar" mustache for a costume party!
You will want to click on the next image to see all the fun facts, especially if you're a fan of the Handlebar Mustache! LOL
He's wobbling
