MPS BIRTHDAY CHALLENGE...I HAVE ELEPHANTITIS!! :)

Hi Everyone,

What can I say...I'm liking the elephants right now.  I made this one for the Birthday Challenge over at MPS http://www.mypinkstamper.com/2010/12/birthday-challenge.html .  I had lots of fun making him, he reminds me of a computer game my youngest played years ago, just remember the song 'the circus is coming to town'.  He loved that game, but I doubt he remembers it now, since he's almost 16!  I think it turned out really cute, please let me know what you think.

Recipe:
Gypsy, CWF Cricut Cart, everything was cut at 3.75"
MS Loopy punch
Yellow & Light Blue AC Card Stock/Dark Blue "Shimmer Stack" DCWV
I-Rock for the bling-bling
AND of course it wouldn't be a MPS challenge without one of her fun stamps! It's from Everyday Occasions

Elephant/Card Patterns Sketch #92

Hi Everyone!
Hope you all had a safe and Happy Holiday weekend!

My niece just turned 18 and I needed to make her a card (and send money of course) however, I wasn't feeling very creative.  I decided to look check in to some of the challenges that http://felineplayful.blogspot.com/ had listed.  I get a live feed from her & she has a variety of different challenges that bloggers have for everyday of the week.  You should check her out if you haven't already.  Well I found a sketch challenge over at http://cardpatterns.blogspot.com/  (sketch #92) that I thought would be fun to play with and I did have fun! It was hard to come up with something because she's really not into clothes or music, but more so into Art and school. She's a wonderful Artist, I'll have to post some of her paintings she gave me for Christmas one year. In fact she's looking into Colleges now with a good Art program.  I hope she doesn't think it's too babyish, but I've always wanted to use this Elephant.  I think it turned out really cute and it's not the best photo, but please let me know what you think.

For some reason I couldn't get the inside of the card to upload, but it says
"Hope you had a Ton of Fun!"

Stay Cool!

Hi Everyone!

Thought I'd share a card that I made for my son (21) who's in the Air Force and serving in Afghanistan.

All he talks about other than wanting to come home is how HOT it is there, so I thought a nice cool popsicle ALONG with a care package of all his favorites might make him feel a little better.

He was soo excited when he got it, that I got a nice little e-mail saying how awesome I was!
I don't know about you all, but when my boys show appreciation for something I've done for them, it just makes my heart a flutter!

I think my card turned out pretty cute, would love to hear what you all think.

Recipe: Cricut Cart~Smiley Faces~All Cuts
Papers~All from scraps I had
Sentiment~Unfortunately I didn't have the exact sentiment I wanted in stamp, so I used a rub-on for the "Stay" and the "Cool" is an old stamp I had.
Swirlies~MPS "Every Day Occasions" stamp set
Ice Stickles
Black & White Gel pens

A Big Thank You to Robyn~MPS & Tammy~Creative Critters Cricut Club for all their hard work in making it possible for me to figure out the Smiley Face Cart! :)

Another Look

Hi Everyone!

I had such a great response to my Gobble Bag, I thought I'd post it again and enter it in Made by Momo's Tuesday Challenge, which is to make something with a Turkey.  You can take your Thanksgiving day leftovers, wrap them in foil or put in plastic containers and then put them in this cute "Gobble Bag" for your family & friends in for your guests.  So, instead of Doggie Bag, you have a "Gobble Bag".  Doesn't mean you have to leave your pupsters out though, they can still have some of the leftovers. :)

Be Thankful Blog Hop

I have to say that I am very Thankful to be included in this special blog hop! I have Sarah over at  http://www.pinkcricut.com/ to thank for for including me along with all the wonderful crafters you've seen todayt! You should have arrived here via  http://luvmybabygirl.blogspot.com/ , if not be sure and start from the beginning http://www.pinkcricut.com/ so you don't miss anything.

To go with the theme of the hop Sarah asked that we list some things that we are Thankful for. After the past couple of years we have had, I'm Thankful for sooo much!!! The first thing I'm most Thankful for is having GOD in my life! If it weren't for my faith, things could have turned out differently. My boys are doing so well, I'm very proud of the young men they have become. I have a wonderful hubby, who is very supportive of me & he's my best friend. I'm Thankful my hubby and I both have FT jobs now, and we have a roof over our heads. I know these things can be taken for granted, BUT I don't....at least not anymore!

The first is a place mat I made out of fabric & my Gypsy. I love to cut fabric on my Cricut, works perfectly using Steam a Seam 2. For this particular project I used the leaf in Gypsy Wanderings, I also used my new I-Rock!

Instead of a place card I made a wine tag instead. The stamp is from "Bountiful Blessings"  Pink by Design, I used a rub-on for the letter T and twine is from Paper Tray Ink.
You know how you always have lot's of leftovers after Thanksgiving Dinner, well I thought instead of doggy bag, I'd make a Gobble bag. :)  You can fill it full of goodies for your guests to take home and they'll love the bag.  For this project I used my Gypsy and Create a Critter. Papers are S.E.I Simple Sets & Me & my Big Ideas Autumn Layer Pack.  I also used some googly eyes and blinged up his hat with my I-Rock.  For the tag I used another stamp from "Bountiful Blessings" that says Gobble til you Wobble...soooo cute!
Now on to some BLOG CANDY!!!!  Aren't you glad you stuck around??!!! I'm sooo excited to have my first give away!!!  All I ask of you is to make a comment on this post with a way to get in touch with you AND consider following me.  If you like what you see on my blog AND to WANT to follow, that would be great, but I'm not going to force you to follow me if you don't want to.  I will pick the lucky winner of these beautiful stamps on Monday evening (eastern time).
Thanks for stopping by!

ALTERED PUMPKIN

Hi Everyone!

Today I'm sharing a pumpkin that I had started last year before Halloween, but didn't finish it so I put it away.  I had forgotten all about it until I went to get my Halloween decorations out this year, and there it was, so I thought I should probably finish it.  I'm sure I wasn't planning on finishing it the way I did. I've noticed that on lots of my projects that I don't like or finish, if I put them away (not usually for a whole year lol), when I go back to them, I have another idea and I'm actually glad that waited to finish them.  I'm really glad that I waited, because I'm very happy with how it turned out!  Let me know what you think?

10/4/11 Linked to

Recipe:  Plastic pumpkin
Card stock cut into diamonds and put on with modpodge
Sanding and various inks to make it look distressed
Flowers from Michaels that were orange & yellow (very boring), so I used various Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks, ink pads & black paint to jazz them up. Used hot glue (black by MS) to adhere them.
Paper clay that I  added lots of black paint to, made base at the top & the stem, which after drying I put a few coats of black paint on.
I twisted different colors of 22 gage "Fun Wire" and added them to the base of the clay so they would be secure once the paper clay had dried.

Memories........

FB is such a great way for people to find each other.  One of the gals that worked on our cake topper for our wedding found me there and posted a picture it.  I can't remember how I found out about www.http://youtopthecake.com  (think it was a magazine), but when I went to their site, I knew I just had to have them make ours.  Sheryl and her business partner hand make each and everyone of these with polymer clay.  I work with polymer clay, but could NEVER make anything like this!

They shipped it in time and it turned out perfectly, they got everything to the T. My dress, jewelry, everything including my 4 leaf clover on the inside of my arm (St. Patty's Day Baby).  We were married in December at the Hershey Lodge in PA, it was absolutely wonderful! If you need a cake topper for your wedding or any other occasion I would encourage you to check out the website I listed above or you can contact Sheryl Caketoppers over on FB.

Isn't it BEAUTIFUL????!!!!! You should click on the picture to see every detail.

Was going to post a picture of one of the favors I made, but can't seem to find it.  Since we were being married in Hershey, PA, thought a Hershey Kiss would be perfect.  Found the idea in one of my Polymer Clay Idea Books. It's really cute, as soon as I can find the picture I will post it.

New, New, New!!!

Hi Everyone!

As you may know, I recently moved and I wanted to thank our WONDERFUL realtor.  He really looked out for us and went way beyond what you would expect or even imagine a realtor doing!  So, if you're looking for a place in Northern VA, drop me a line & I'll give you his #!  Anyway, I thought the house from Wild Card was the perfect fit for the card I wanted to make him. I think it turned out really cute, let me know what you think!

I made this some time ago, so unfortunately I don't remember the recipe.

As for the other "New" News......I have a brand new signature, watermark & counter thanks to the WONDERFUL Veronica @ http://www.vkdesigncompany.com/  She has been sooo helpful and patient since I am so clueless when it comes to computer stuff.

Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge

Hi Everyone!
I am so happy to be posting this card tonight!  Theresa, "The Scrapbooking Queen" has had a challenge over on her blog http://thescrapbookingqueen.com/ for all of us card makers & scrappers to make a card for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

There are so many wonderful cards that she has received and there's still time to get your in. Just go visit her blog for all the details! The best part of this is that she will be taking all of the cards we send her to a local women's center and they will deliver them to all the women who are battling this horrible disease!

I'm very pleased with how my card turned out.  A dove represents Hope, Peace and Tranquility, which is what I want all these women to feel.

The cart I used was BB~the Dove and Vine on the front were cut at 3" and the Vines on the inside were cut at 3.5".

Hope you like it!  Gilby just LOVES comments...his tail just wags away!

Sweet Wishes x 2

These two cards are basically the same, just done a little differently.  I made these a while back and I remember totally scrap lifting the idea, I just added my own touch. The problem is I can't remember who I lifted it from (hey I sound like a real thief), so I'm sorry to whomever created this cute card to begin with that I'm unable to give you credit!  Hope you like my take on the design!

Products I used were:
Happy Birthday Cuttlebug Folder & Devine Swirls
MPS "Sweet Wishes" stamp
Prima Flowers
Martha Stewart's Double Scallop punch for the pink card
Doodle Charms in Blackout for the Cupcake
Can't remember what papers I used or other embellishments

A Baby is...

I went to my friend Heidi's Baby Shower yesterday and came home wanting a baby!  I can't have anymore babies, but the cute things they have now are just adorable!!!!! Oh, and she got so many things for little Colin, she left with 2 cars packed!  I'm so happy for her!!!  Anyway this is the card I made for her.  She loved it and I hope you do as well!

Now I know that I need some help with taking pictures, I have what I think is a nice camera, but I just can't seem to capture my cards as I'd like them too.

Anyway, I know you can't ready any on the card, so the front says "Sweet Baby Colin".  The inside wording is my own mixture of greetings from a card book I have.  It says...

A Baby is ...
Smiles and laughter and coos
Wonder and softness and sweet lullabies,
Beauty that shines like the starlight above.
Fresh fallen from the heavens
Sent for you to love...

I love it and I'm really happy with how my card turned out.

Recipe:  DCWV Textured Cardstock, the patterned paper is "Boy Mosaic" by Rene' Lingren

The baby face is DC and cut at 1.75.  I hid all the features so I could use my new Peachy Keen Stamps! (yeah hurray!) I also used some chalk for his little cheeks and for shading. The little curly cue of hair is made from brown Making Memories wire.

The moon is from Pooh and cut at 1.75, the stars are from Paisley and cute at .88, .75 and .50.

I used my Swiss Dots cuttle bug folder and the white fiber I used actually feels like terry cloth, it's from EK Sucess and called "Fun Fibers".

Welcome Home Brian! A Dedication to all our Troops!

I thought this would be a good day to post this sign I made for my son Brian back in March.  He is in the Air Force and was coming home from Japan (was there 2 yrs).  We had such a short time together before he was off to Alabama.  Thought he was going to be home for the Holidays this year, but that all changed when he was assigned to Saudi Arabia for 4 months. It's his 10th day there of a 4 month or longer stay.  We miss him soo much, but he could have been stationed somewhere much worse and we are thankful for that.

I thought I would dedicate this post to all the men and women who are serving our Country in this horrible war!  We want to be able to Welcome you all Home right now!!!!!!!

His little brother wasn't able to be there to Welcome him home since he was away at school, but if you look in the lower right hand corner he wrote a note to Welcome him back.  Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy in side, I love my boys sooo much!!!!

The font I used was from "Cuttin' Up" and the sign is made from foam board.

Altered Journal

This is a Journal I altered a while back for my bff.  I wanted something to go with the butterfly and peace card I made for her.  I specifically wanted a journal with dividers and the only one I could find was really ugly, so I took the covers off and decided to make my own.  I don't have a bind it all, so I cut the chipboard out from my Cricut and used a hole punch to thread the wire back through.  Let's just say that before this project I wanted a bind it all, but after making this, I reeeealllly want one now!!!!!!  I hope you like it.

I don't know if you can all the cards, but some of them are really funny!  For some strange reason some of my photos are missing, I would click on a picture and then it would bring up one I had already posted. Strange....wish I knew more about this stuff.  Anyway, everything I used except for the "n" and the ribbon was from the Unwritten collection from Reminisce, which I got from http://www.acherryontop.com/  . The "n" is Tim Holtz Letter Grunge board that I just painted with acrylic paints, added the ribbon for some more pizazz.

A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR MAMMA SUE'S BIRTHDAY!

This is a continuation to Mama Sue's Birthday card "Life Should be lived Sunnyside Up"
If you've ready anything on my blog about me, you know that I love all kinds of crafts.  One of them is using resin.  This is a heart shaped pin made out of resin, dye & some Martha Stewart glitter.

Then to wrap it I used a clear pillow box from AntyAtics along with some tissue paper I had and Prima flowers & a rhinestone.
I'm really happy with how the pin & the packing worked out.  Let me know what you think.
