Elephant/Card Patterns Sketch #92

Hi Everyone!
Hope you all had a safe and Happy Holiday weekend!

My niece just turned 18 and I needed to make her a card (and send money of course) however, I wasn't feeling very creative.  I decided to look check in to some of the challenges that http://felineplayful.blogspot.com/ had listed.  I get a live feed from her & she has a variety of different challenges that bloggers have for everyday of the week.  You should check her out if you haven't already.  Well I found a sketch challenge over at http://cardpatterns.blogspot.com/  (sketch #92) that I thought would be fun to play with and I did have fun! It was hard to come up with something because she's really not into clothes or music, but more so into Art and school. She's a wonderful Artist, I'll have to post some of her paintings she gave me for Christmas one year. In fact she's looking into Colleges now with a good Art program.  I hope she doesn't think it's too babyish, but I've always wanted to use this Elephant.  I think it turned out really cute and it's not the best photo, but please let me know what you think.

For some reason I couldn't get the inside of the card to upload, but it says
"Hope you had a Ton of Fun!"

A Baby is...

I went to my friend Heidi's Baby Shower yesterday and came home wanting a baby!  I can't have anymore babies, but the cute things they have now are just adorable!!!!! Oh, and she got so many things for little Colin, she left with 2 cars packed!  I'm so happy for her!!!  Anyway this is the card I made for her.  She loved it and I hope you do as well!

Now I know that I need some help with taking pictures, I have what I think is a nice camera, but I just can't seem to capture my cards as I'd like them too.

Anyway, I know you can't ready any on the card, so the front says "Sweet Baby Colin".  The inside wording is my own mixture of greetings from a card book I have.  It says...

A Baby is ...
Smiles and laughter and coos
Wonder and softness and sweet lullabies,
Beauty that shines like the starlight above.
Fresh fallen from the heavens
Sent for you to love...

I love it and I'm really happy with how my card turned out.

Recipe:  DCWV Textured Cardstock, the patterned paper is "Boy Mosaic" by Rene' Lingren

The baby face is DC and cut at 1.75.  I hid all the features so I could use my new Peachy Keen Stamps! (yeah hurray!) I also used some chalk for his little cheeks and for shading. The little curly cue of hair is made from brown Making Memories wire.

The moon is from Pooh and cut at 1.75, the stars are from Paisley and cute at .88, .75 and .50.

I used my Swiss Dots cuttle bug folder and the white fiber I used actually feels like terry cloth, it's from EK Sucess and called "Fun Fibers".

GILBY JUST LOVES COMMENTS...HIS TAIL JUST WAGS AWAY!!!

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY,
Wendy (aka, Roo & Gilby's Craftster)

MPS Challenge (First challenge I've ever entered)

"Cruising through the jungle in my fab convertable"

The picture doesn't do it justice, I'm really happy this card, it has lots of bling and glitter.

MPS and her designers had a challenge this weekend and the winner would get the CREATE A CRITTER CART!!!!!!!! So I had to enter. You had to use your cricut along with the colors pink, green and black.

Since we've been talking about spring I instantly thought of the Zebra in the convertable on the Paisley cart.

This was the first time I used this cart and I found it a little misleading when it came to what would be the shift part on layer 1. I was never able to find that image, so I cut the basic zebra/car shape out twice. I used AC Cardstock for the zebra & car. The green and pink paper are from Animal Crackers, various bling and glittered flower were just in my stash. Then of course the sentiment was from MPS Simply Sweet Occasions.

Thanks for looking,
Wendy
