IT'S FINALLY HERE, THE BIG REVEAL DAY OF GILBY'S MAKEOVER WALK!!!

                                                               9/23-9/25
Hi Everyone!

Welcome to mine & Gilby's new makeover!!! Veronica from VK Design Co. did an AWESOME job with our blog, we just LOVE it & hope that you do too!!! Veronica is an amazing designer & just a wonderful person, Gilby & I are a little challenged when it comes to technical things & making decisions. Veronica was there to see us through everything & more, you should stop by her website to see what other wonderful blogs she has done, but I have to warn you, she is in high demand, but well worth the wait, we just love her to pieces!!!
Take a peek around & you'll notice certain things are worded a little differently here..hmmm, I wonder who's idea that was??? he,he

Gilby & I wanted to celebrate this big day & thought what better way to celebrate than to have our first ever Doggie Walk with SUPER TALENTED crafters & lots of Doggie Treats!!! As I said before, we are a little challenged on the technical side of things, but we had some GREAT people help us, one in particular was the Queen herself & Princess Penelope, they were such a great help to us along with some of the other bloggers on the Walk. I just want to thank you all again for all your help!!!

Our theme is "A Makeover", so I asked everyone to have their project or whatever be something that has to do with a Makeover, whether it be a scrapbook page that they weren't happy with (which was on my list) & wanted to give it a makeover or something they had & wanted to give it some pizazz. So, you will see lots of WONDERFUL projects & maybe some furry friends along the Walk  & hopefully they will inspire you to give something a makeover, maybe even yourself, I know I need my hair done something fierce right now (that's why there isn't a picture of me yet on the "About me" page)!

Gilby recently went & had a makeover, not a good one though. Daddy disagrees, but we will be changing salons next time! He almost didn't want to make an appearance, but thankfully it has grown out some, so he feels better. The before picture is up to the left & here he is after his Makeover! Still a cutie, just with shorter hair!

All taken in my Craft Room

I started 3 projects, but only ended up with half of 1 done, unfortunately time was not on my side! :( This is an old canvas's that I painted for my craft room about 6 years ago, I really liked it for a while, but it's been needing a Makeover for quite some time. I have a magnet board on my wall but have always wanted one of those boards that you slide cards in or picture, so I thought why not make this into one of those? There is another one that I am doing the same thing to & will connect them somehow. I definitely learned somethings doing this one that will be helpful on the next one, first get a new staple gun & make sure you have enough ribbon!!!

First off my oldest son is going to kill me with his picture up here, that was taken 4 yrs ago! He looks much different now, wears contacts & has a shaved head (Air Force), you can see Gilby there as a little pupster. :o)
As you can see, I took off the canvas from the frame & covered the frame with black fleece that I had. Then I put the canvas back on over that. I added several layers of batting so it would be nice & soft. Then I covered it with ribbon, had planned on using a different color w/the red, but of course I ran out! So I made due with what I had. I'm not completely happy with how it turned out, but that's also because I waited until last night to finish it! Can we say procrastinator???!!! lol, Not really, just really busy! There are lots of you-tube videos about how to do this, but they are mostly for regular bulletin boards, same general directions. I would go with the regular bulletin boards if it's your first time, it's probably a lot easier!!! lol
Now on to the FABULOUS list of crafters you'll be stopping by on your walk!!! These gals/guy are sooo EXTREMELY TALENTED you are sure to see some AWESOME projects!!! I was soo HAPPY when they said they would join in on the celebration, as I LOVE their blogs and they are truly wonderful people!!! Make sure you stop & leave some luvin' on everyones blogs for your chance to win some yummy Doggie Treats, hang on we'll get to the treats! :o)

TBT CHALLENGE & ANOTHER SHOUT OUT ABOUT MISS EMMA'S SNEAK PEEKS!

Hi Everyone!

Happy Wednesday! Have you all been checking out Miss Emma's (MCT) Sneaky Peeks this week??? If not, you had better get on over there & check them out, you have 6 chances to win some fabulous prizes this week!!! Plus you just need to check out the awesome projects she & her DT has made!!! Don't go just yet though, take a peak at my project first & maybe leave some lovin' if you want! :D

This is my card for My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday. This was a  "CRICUTLESS" Challenge, we had to kick it "Old School" by using punches &/or your cuttlebug! We needed to Create a CARD using the colors PURPLE, ORANGE, GREEN & BLACK!

Thought this would be a piece of cake & that I could wait until the last minute & just whip it up in a breeze, I thought wrong, what was in my brain didn't quite turn out the way I had envisioned it, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Not going to let that stop me from entering it though. You can tell it was down to wire, because the Glossy Accents on the one guys face hasn't even dried yet & I strategically placed my watermark over a thumbprint on the card! lol

Recipe:
I used Miss Emma's "Stitched Circle Embossing Die" for the 3 circles on the card (love it!) with my Cuttlebug
I also used her "Curly Label Die" along with the Stamped Frame from "Inspiring Words Accents" (love how it just fits so perfectly) I heat embossed it with some clear embossing powder & MS purple glitter
The sentiment "Trick or Treat" is from her "Mixed Holiday Sentiments" which was all embossed with the same mixture.
I used the Martha Stewart 1" Circle Punch to punch out the 3 faces from her (MS) "Creepy Face" paper pack.
I also used papers from the "Halloween" set from K&Co. Tim Coffey
Cardstock is DCWV "Brights"
Ribbon & Brads are from my stash
Pop Dots
I used Glossy Accents, Black Glitter Glue (doesn't even compare to stickles) & a googly eye for the faces.

As always Gilby & I love comments...his tail just wags away when he sees me smile!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

PS~Don't forget, next week is our BIG Makeover Reveal & Doggie Walk!!!

IT'S HIPPIE DIGI TIME...LOL!!!

Hi Everyone & Happy Labor Day!

Sorry about the title, I know it's a little corny, but that's me!

A friend of mine wanted me to make her a card for her Anniversary that she could give to her husband. The first thing that came to mind was making a card with them as hippies!!! They would have totally been hippies if they were older back then for sure!!!

I got to searching for hippie digi stamps & I really couldn't find any that really suited them, until I ran across Jen's Digi Stamps . She had a girl hippie that was perfect, but she didn't have a guy. I e-mailed her to see if she could make one AND I was shocked & thrilled when she said "yeah, no problem"!!! I mean that is some customer service!!! I was sooo pleased with the guy that she drew, he was perfecto, as you can see below, they look soo cute together!!!

If you are into Digi Stamps, I would highly recommend going to her site Jen's Digi Stamps , she has some of the cutest images I have seen & her DT is just FABULOUS!!!
In fact, I will have some more wonderful news to share later on, so stay tuned, same dog blog, same...(told you I was corny)!!!

My friend totally loved the card & didn't even notice some of the mistakes I had made. I know crafting doesn't have to be perfect, but I always put pressure on myself to make whatever I am making as perfect as it can be. Maybe now, knowing that she didn't see the mistakes, maybe I will put less pressure on myself & just enjoy crafting!!!

Recipe:
Jen's Digi Stamps-"Jenny" & "Larry"
Our Craft Lounge (OCL) - "Flower Power" They have AWESOME clear & rubber stamps along with lots of other great products!!!
I colored them with both Copics & Prisma Coloring Pencils
I used the Large Circle Nestability to cut them out
I embossed both the sentiment & flower
Cardstock is DCWV Textured & AC Brights
The Peace sign strip is from Reminisce "Unwritten"
I also used Crushed Velvet Flock (Black) around the circle

I hope you like the card & get a chance to go by Jen's Digi Stamps & OCL, I promise you will love them both!!!

As always, Gilby & I love your comments...his tail just wags away when he sees me smile!!!

PKS TUESDAY CHALLENGE

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are all having a great Labor Day weekend!
I went to go see my son's first football game yesterday, it was not a pretty sight. They were crushed by guys twice their size!!! Was wonderful to see him though & to spend some time with him after the game!!! I miss my bubbaloo sooo much!!!

Anyway, on to the card I made for the most recent PKS Sketch Challenge #59. This one had a twist, you had to add buttons. I'm a HUGE PKS fan, so it was really fun to participate!!! I hope you like my little butterfly, my mother-in-law loves butterflies, so I thought I would send it to her.

Recipe:
I used Faceless Bugs (for the wings & body) from PKS. The set comes with some cute little faces, but I decided to use one from the Everyday Character set instead. I used a marker to stamp the body, so, I could use the other face, otherwise it wouldn't have fit. Hope that makes sense. lol
Made the Antennas from black coated wire
"Smile" is from-PBD Scripted Years (my favorite set of hers)
Momento Ink Tuxedo Ink pad
Green Cardstock is DCWV
Purple Color is one I created on my Imagine (one of the best things about that machine)
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder-Swiss Dots
Ribbons & Buttons are from stash

Gilby & I just LOVE your comments...his tail just wags away when he see's me smile!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
