Back In The Card Making Saddle Again!

Hi Everyone!
Have kind of had mixed feeling about card making & paper crafting lately. I had this whole thing typed out explaining why, but I thought what was the point? It just brings up more hurt feelings & what's done is done & I need to move on. Let's just say that the 2 people in my family (hubby's side) will now be getting cards that my hubby picks out for them, just as they want. I had decided to sell a bunch of my stamps & stop making cards completely, I have so many hobbies as it is, but that didn't last long though, I'm not going to let this get me down anymore. I enjoy making cards, I just may not make as many as I've made before.
Enough of all that, today I'm sharing a card I made for a friends boyfriend who is extremely lucky to be alive, it is a true miracle that he is still with us. It's going to be a long hard road for him, but, I know he can do it, he has so many people praying for him. I actually witnessed the power of prayer & how amazing God is!
Instead of a somber get well card, I thought I would make a fun light hearted card that would hopefully make him smile a bit, plus he's a big Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan.

I'm entering it for the following challenges-
Creative Craft Challenges 2 "All About The Boys"
Hooked On Crafts "For Men"
Make It Monday "Anything Goes"
Fetch A Sketch "Sketch"

Digi Stamp-Dude Time Doodle
Sentiment Stamps-MCT

FATHER'S DAY

Hi Everyone!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend & all the your loved ones had a great Father's Day!
I was going to share these with you yesterday, but I never got around to it...very busy weekend!

The first card is one I made my dad, I got it in the mail a little late, so I was worried that he wouldn't get in time, but when I spoke with yesterday I was relieved to hear that he had gotten it & loved it! :)

I used my copics to color in the Digi (Dustin Pike) w/my Copics & used some Glossy Accents for the cape

I didn't have any Father's Day Sentiments, so I made my own

The 2nd card Gilby made for his Daddy, I think it turned out really cute, let us know what you think.
The card shape was a Freebie from Scraptastical Kreations, Gilby entered it in their FB Challenge
The Sentiment is from MCT, I didn't have any Baseball paper, so we made our own on the computer.
Created the sentiment on the computer as well, Gilby is a Digi, but unfortunately we can't remember where it came from though

CAN'T BELIEVE MY LITTLE BOY IS TURNING 17!!! "MR. MUSCLES"

Hi Everyone!

Tomorrow my baby boy (Brandon) is turning 17! I can't believe it, where has all the time gone, it's gone way too fast though, I know that for sure!
The poor guy has an exam tomorrow & they don't celebrate Birthdays at the Military School he attends, so he will have to wait to celebrate when he comes home in March for Spring Break.

I didn't want the day to go by without anything though, so I baked him some brownies & sent them along with this card I made for him. Hopefully he will get them tomorrow, they were supposed to arrive today, but I haven't heard from him (not unusual though). I won't get into it now, but being a parent of a child who attends an away Military School is very hard!!!

I'm hoping to get a serious laugh out of him on this card, because this is sooo not him!!!
Brandon is so physically active in sports like Football & Lacrosse & LOVES weightlifting! The girls are going to LOVE him, he's tall, handsome & has all the muscles! He doesn't know this yet, but when he is home this summer he is going to be my trainer...lol
I think it turned out really cute & am entering it in some challenges that are listed below. Love it when you have a card in mind & can find challenges that fit it so perfectly!

The Sentiment & #'s are from MCT "All Around Birthday Time"
This one I came up with & the font is "Chipper"

I'm entering it into the following challenges:
CCEE STAMPERS-Favorite Sketch & Brads
Crafty Ribbon Challenge For the Men or Boys

BACK IN MY CRAFT ROOM "GIT-R-DONE"

Hi Everyone!

I finally got my craft mojo back & spent some time in my craft room this weekend. As most of you know, my family has been through a lot lately, so I was happy when I felt the craft bug this weekend, as I haven't crafted since before Christmas.
Before I get on to my project, just wanted to give you a little update on everyone. Since both of my sisters are named Tammy & they both are fighting different kinds of cancer from now on I'm going to refer to them as Tammy (Breast Cancer) & Tamera (Brain Cancer). Tammy is still recuperating from the first part of her reconstructive surgery, unfortunately she's still in pain & very tired, more so than she had anticipated. Tamera started chemo & radiation this past week & is tolerating it fairly well, the good thing is that she's not in pain right now. Being the little sis, I've looked up to them all my life & seeing how strong they have been over the past month just makes me so proud! Gilby hasn't had a fever is a # of days now & appears to be getting back to his puppy self, it's so good see him running around & hearing his bark. We are still concerned about his breathing & the thickening around part of his heart, but for now, we don't want to put his little body through anymore tests at least for the time being.

Ok, so on to my project. This is a very Belated Birthday card for my BIL (Tammy's husband).
He is really into Nascar Racing, so when I saw this image on the Dude Time Doodles, I knew I had to use it. I thought of the "Git-R-Done", but hubby came up with the inside sentiment, which I think is perfect!
I used my new Cameo & MTC to create the Circle Card, then used Nestabilities for the layers.
You can't really tell unless you click on the picture but I used "Diamond Plate" CB Folder on the Black card stock & distressed it with sand paper & then rubbed some Platinum Embossing Ink all over it. Used Copic Markers & Silver Metallic Gel Pen to color the image.
The font is "Apple Boy BTN"

I'm entering this into the following Challenges:
Cards for Men~#2 "Boys & their Toys"
Crafty Bloggers Network~#10 "Distressing"  (Sanding/Inking)
Celebrate the Occasion~#47 "Masculine Birthday"

BIRTHDAY FISHES!!!

Hi Everyone!
Hope this short week doesn't feel long to you, I hate weeks like that, thankfully this isn't one of those weeks for me! It's not over yet though is it??? LOL
I'm looking forward to the weekend because hubby & I are going to IKEA to look at more storage options for my craft room. I love IKEA, especially when shopping for things like this. I love my craft room, but it needs to be be less cluttered, I need pretty containers to put other containers & such in. Also need to figure out what to do about my ribbon, it used to be on a couple of those dowels that go in that storage thingy that goes up on the wall (they sell it at Michaels), hopefully you know what I mean, but the ribbon kept getting all over the place. So, now I'm leaning towards making the cards to wrap the ribbon around or getting those old fashion clothes pins & wrapping them & keeping them in jars. I don't know, will just have to see what I can come up with. I need a place for my punches as well. Have all my Stickles (just got from Blitsy) where the ribbon was, but I don't like that either. I also need some more wall art & a bulletin board, but that will have to wait. If anyone has any ideas for my ribbon, punches & stickles please let me know. I like to keep them close to me. I promise to share some photos of my craft room/office when I get it to looking the way I want it to or at least what I can do (since we are renting).

Anywhoodle who, I promised earlier in the week that I would share the card I made for my niece's Birthday, it's actually a gift card holder that I put cash in. Decided cash for her Birthday & something fun for Christmas, so I got her a bunch of Smash products which she loved. It's her freshman year in college, she's an artist & is studying interior design. She loves pinterest, so I knew she would love the Smash stuff.
I needed something quick & easy since I waited until the last minute & this is what I came up with. I think it turned out real cute & she liked it, so that was all that mattered.
Ingredients~

 MCT Embossed Gift Card Holder
MCT Gift Card Sentiments (Happy Birthday)
Bugaboo Digi Stamp (Fish & birthday fishes)
AC White Textured Card Stock
Imaginisce Lady Bug Ball Pattern Paper
Copic Markers
Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress Ink
Momento Tuxedo Black Dye Ink
Glossy Accents (over the bubbles)
Twine
Pop Dots

A SNOW COUPLE ANNIVERSARY!

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to share the cute little Anniversary Card for my Hubby, kind of like the couple on the cocoa packet I showed you yesterday
The cute little snow couple is a Digi Stamp that I got from Cindy's Scraptastic Designs  I think it's a perfect match for the couple on the cocoa, so I was super excited when I found it!!! I used copics to color it (still need lots of practice) then, as you can see I went a little over board on the bling, I kept thinking it needed more & then I ran out of time & didn't really make the base of the card as well as I had like to. That's ok though, because I still think it's cute & I know hubby will like it (we are celebrating this weekend)!!! So, all the bling consisted of lots of Stickles, Black Enamel Accents & Aleene's Glitter Snow. The sentiment is from Whimsical Designs.

IT'S HIPPIE DIGI TIME...LOL!!!

Hi Everyone & Happy Labor Day!

Sorry about the title, I know it's a little corny, but that's me!

A friend of mine wanted me to make her a card for her Anniversary that she could give to her husband. The first thing that came to mind was making a card with them as hippies!!! They would have totally been hippies if they were older back then for sure!!!

I got to searching for hippie digi stamps & I really couldn't find any that really suited them, until I ran across Jen's Digi Stamps . She had a girl hippie that was perfect, but she didn't have a guy. I e-mailed her to see if she could make one AND I was shocked & thrilled when she said "yeah, no problem"!!! I mean that is some customer service!!! I was sooo pleased with the guy that she drew, he was perfecto, as you can see below, they look soo cute together!!!

If you are into Digi Stamps, I would highly recommend going to her site Jen's Digi Stamps , she has some of the cutest images I have seen & her DT is just FABULOUS!!!
In fact, I will have some more wonderful news to share later on, so stay tuned, same dog blog, same...(told you I was corny)!!!

My friend totally loved the card & didn't even notice some of the mistakes I had made. I know crafting doesn't have to be perfect, but I always put pressure on myself to make whatever I am making as perfect as it can be. Maybe now, knowing that she didn't see the mistakes, maybe I will put less pressure on myself & just enjoy crafting!!!

Recipe:
Jen's Digi Stamps-"Jenny" & "Larry"
Our Craft Lounge (OCL) - "Flower Power" They have AWESOME clear & rubber stamps along with lots of other great products!!!
I colored them with both Copics & Prisma Coloring Pencils
I used the Large Circle Nestability to cut them out
I embossed both the sentiment & flower
Cardstock is DCWV Textured & AC Brights
The Peace sign strip is from Reminisce "Unwritten"
I also used Crushed Velvet Flock (Black) around the circle

I hope you like the card & get a chance to go by Jen's Digi Stamps & OCL, I promise you will love them both!!!

I would highly recommend it!!! Well enough about Martha, and on to my card!!! Sorry about the fuzzy pictures, you can click on each one to get a better look.
