BACK IN MY CRAFT ROOM "GIT-R-DONE"

Hi Everyone!

I finally got my craft mojo back & spent some time in my craft room this weekend. As most of you know, my family has been through a lot lately, so I was happy when I felt the craft bug this weekend, as I haven't crafted since before Christmas.
Before I get on to my project, just wanted to give you a little update on everyone. Since both of my sisters are named Tammy & they both are fighting different kinds of cancer from now on I'm going to refer to them as Tammy (Breast Cancer) & Tamera (Brain Cancer). Tammy is still recuperating from the first part of her reconstructive surgery, unfortunately she's still in pain & very tired, more so than she had anticipated. Tamera started chemo & radiation this past week & is tolerating it fairly well, the good thing is that she's not in pain right now. Being the little sis, I've looked up to them all my life & seeing how strong they have been over the past month just makes me so proud! Gilby hasn't had a fever is a # of days now & appears to be getting back to his puppy self, it's so good see him running around & hearing his bark. We are still concerned about his breathing & the thickening around part of his heart, but for now, we don't want to put his little body through anymore tests at least for the time being.

Ok, so on to my project. This is a very Belated Birthday card for my BIL (Tammy's husband).
He is really into Nascar Racing, so when I saw this image on the Dude Time Doodles, I knew I had to use it. I thought of the "Git-R-Done", but hubby came up with the inside sentiment, which I think is perfect!
I used my new Cameo & MTC to create the Circle Card, then used Nestabilities for the layers.
You can't really tell unless you click on the picture but I used "Diamond Plate" CB Folder on the Black card stock & distressed it with sand paper & then rubbed some Platinum Embossing Ink all over it. Used Copic Markers & Silver Metallic Gel Pen to color the image.
The font is "Apple Boy BTN"

I'm entering this into the following Challenges:

UPDATE

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to give you an update on my family & Gilby.

My sister who has Breast Cancer had the 1st part of her surgery last week, she is still in some pain, but seems to be doing pretty well, she has a check up with her doctor tomorrow. I feel bad because I was supposed to work from her house & help take care of her & their 2 Berners, but because Gilby has been so sick I couldn't leave him. In another week or so she will start radiation therapy daily for 2 weeks & then she will undergo the 2nd part of the reconstructive surgery.

Was finally able to speak with my other sister who lives in California the other night. They weren't able to get all of the tumor from her brain, she explained it like "sprinkles on a cupcake", but they are not going to go back in. She has (she calls it grade instead of stage) grade 4 Glioblastoma, which is fatal, but she is has a good outlook and feels God will take care of her & let her live for many, many years. She will begin chemo & radiation next week & then is hoping to be part of a clinical trial for a vaccine that will help. She sounded so strong & feels so grateful to god for getting her this far & is very thankful for all the prayers.

Gilby is still spiking fevers, was as high as 104.7 last night. He finally had an ultrasound last night & they found that his pancreas was just fine. They did find some thickness on his mitral valve (which is very rare for a pup his age) they are concerned about & a nodule on his gall bladder, they aren't too worried about that. So the docs there have referred us back to our vet for a list of tests in order that he will need. Mean while he has to stay on the antibiotics & the pain meds, we have an appointment with our regular vet on Saturday. The poor little guy has gone through so much, all he does is sleep, we hate to see him like this.

I haven't done any crafting since before Christmas, as I haven't had time & haven't felt well myself & basically haven't had crafting bug. Hopefully, I'll get in my craft room this weekend.

Thanks again for all your prayers.

BIRTHDAY FISHES!!!

Hi Everyone!
Hope this short week doesn't feel long to you, I hate weeks like that, thankfully this isn't one of those weeks for me! It's not over yet though is it??? LOL
I'm looking forward to the weekend because hubby & I are going to IKEA to look at more storage options for my craft room. I love IKEA, especially when shopping for things like this. I love my craft room, but it needs to be be less cluttered, I need pretty containers to put other containers & such in. Also need to figure out what to do about my ribbon, it used to be on a couple of those dowels that go in that storage thingy that goes up on the wall (they sell it at Michaels), hopefully you know what I mean, but the ribbon kept getting all over the place. So, now I'm leaning towards making the cards to wrap the ribbon around or getting those old fashion clothes pins & wrapping them & keeping them in jars. I don't know, will just have to see what I can come up with. I need a place for my punches as well. Have all my Stickles (just got from Blitsy) where the ribbon was, but I don't like that either. I also need some more wall art & a bulletin board, but that will have to wait. If anyone has any ideas for my ribbon, punches & stickles please let me know. I like to keep them close to me. I promise to share some photos of my craft room/office when I get it to looking the way I want it to or at least what I can do (since we are renting).

Anywhoodle who, I promised earlier in the week that I would share the card I made for my niece's Birthday, it's actually a gift card holder that I put cash in. Decided cash for her Birthday & something fun for Christmas, so I got her a bunch of Smash products which she loved. It's her freshman year in college, she's an artist & is studying interior design. She loves pinterest, so I knew she would love the Smash stuff.
I needed something quick & easy since I waited until the last minute & this is what I came up with. I think it turned out real cute & she liked it, so that was all that mattered.

ROUTE 22..A HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY CARD

Hi Everyone!
Hope you all had a Happy New Years Day & that all your resolutions are in full throttle! LOL
I'm not one for New Years Resolutions, because I always seem to fail (it's always about losing weight & exercising). There is one that I plan to do though & that is to craft more/post more often, but not let it get in the way of family time & responsibilities. So, I think I'm doing pretty good  so far on this 2nd day of January!

I actually made this card for my nephew a couple of months ago, just never got around to posting it.  How old do you think he turned???...22???...You guessed it right!!! LOL

You can't really tell, because the base is black, but it's a shaped card
I used the weld feature on my gypsy to create the card & the hide/contour to remove the 66. The cart is Nifty Fifties.
I used Black Enamel Accents on the 22 (Something to Celebrate Cart) & the outside
& inside dots. I popped the white part of the card from the black to give it dimension & I used some bakers twine. The card stock is American Crafts.
The inside sentiment is my own (I crack myself up with the things I can come up with) LOL
I printed it on my computer-it took a few tries to get it lined up just right.

We celebrated his belated Birthday along with my niece's on Thanksgiving, everyone, including him got a kick out of his card. With a 22yrd old guy it's kind of hard to make a handmade card that they would like, so I happy that he liked it so much. I'll share the card I made for my niece sometime this week.
