POLAR BEAR LOVE!!!

Hi Everyone!

I've been wanting to use this cute little Polar Bear off the Joys of the Season Cart for a long time. I just LOVE Polar Bears, I remember when I was in grade school having a poster of a cute little Polar Bear & I've been in love ever since!!!
There's the base of the card, then the Shimmer Blue from DCWV . The Little Guy has 3 layers to him, which I used some ColorBox Chalk for shading.
I used the "Snowflake" CB folder to emboss the Metallic Blue, added Bling w/my I-Rock,  Black Enamel Accents for his eye & nose. I didn't like the scarf that came with him, so I just snipped the part off that I couldn't hide with my Gypsy. I would say he's sporting a "Trendy" new twine look, but it's not Trendy, it's from the Twinery. :D
The snow drifts are the last 2 layers. I embossed white cardstock with some UTEE along with M.S. Fine Crystal Glitter.
His poor little foot looks like it's injured in the picture, but I promise he's it's not, he's just fine.
Please remember to stop by all my fellow DTM's blogs to see what they have layered up for you, omgosh, I crack myself up...LOL!!! Come on, I know you all are laughing too, hopefully with me & not at me! :D

As you know, Gilby & I love your comments, his tail just wags away when he sees me smile!!!
PS..My spell check was not working, so it's not my fault!!! :D

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Hi Everyone & Happy Thanksgiving!
It's a very laid back morning for hubby & I, Gilby let us sleep in until 9 this morning, which he never does! We are watching the Macy's Day Parade as I'm sure most of you all are. It brings back fond memories of when my sister & I took her daughter to NY for Thanksgiving for her 16th Birthday. We had the best time, though it was hard to see everything, still one of the best trips I've had & the only one with the two of them.
We will be seeing my sister & her family later for dinner at the Club House where her in-laws live. It will be nice for my sister not to have to cook this year, as she normally hosts Thanksgiving at her house, she enjoys it & we all help, but it will be a nice change, at least I hope. Then we are going back to her in-laws to celebrate my nieces Birthday, who just turned 19... I can't believe how time flies!

I'm very Thankful today, as my two boys are spending time together with their Dad & Grandparents in Florida, the boys have hardly seen each other his my oldest, Brian joined the Air Force right out of High School. I wish they were here with me, but I'm happy that they are together!!!
I am praying that Brian will be able to come home for Christmas, so I can enjoy both my boys together! It has been 4 years since we've been able to spend Christmas with Brian because he was in Japan & then last year he was in Afghanistan. I am praying that they don't send him over there again!!!

I just wanted to share some Thanksgiving projects I made years ago when I was first getting into polymer clay. I'm all over the place with my crafts, but I really want to get back into clay again.

I hope you all are having a Wonderful Thanksgiving with your families & thinking back on fond memories. Although things aren't the best financially for us right now, I know that god has a plan for us & I am Thankful & Blessed to have a loving family!!!

I have  burlap, distressing, glimmer mist on the flower, twine on the button, twine, i-rock gems, dry embossing on shimmer cardstock & heat embossing for the sentiment. The cute little pumpkins are from PKS, I colored them with Prisma Pencils & blended them with baby oil & those little nib things.

MY CRICUT CRAFT ROOM RECIPE/BAKING HOP SERVING SIZE-DOUBLE DUTY!

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to My Cricut Craft Room's Recipe/Baking Blog Hop. To start from the beginning click here , you can also see the whole line up. If you just arrived from Tracy's blog then you are on the right track.

The reason why I said this recipe serves as double duty is because I am entering it in the PKS "Let's Face it Friday" Holiday Recipe Challenge. I love this recipe & thought it would be perfect for the Blog Hop & PKS' challenge with their cute little faces!

Before I proceed with my post, I have to say that this is NOT my recipe! I got it from Sarah's blog PINK CRICUT a while back. I can't seem to find it on her blog now, so I will put the recipe down below. My family LOVES this bread, especially with chili or taco soup. Saturday's dinner is set...Chili & Beer Bread!!! :D
I love the retro look-think I may make a recipe book with this theme
I used the Cuttin' Up cart to weld the letters together for the title-
Cardstock is "Shimmer" by DCWV
The bottle is from the Block Party cart, you can't really tell from the photo, but I used acetate to make it look more like a bottle & the cute little face is from PKS Retro Doll Assortment
I used From the Kitchen for the bread & another cute little face from the same PKS set
I used PTI craft cardstock & just used some Tim Holtz distress ink for the crust.
The patterned cardstock is DCWV Nana's Kitchen & then just used some rickrack ribbon from my stash.

Beer Bread Recipe (Super Simple)

3 Cups Sifted Flour
3 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Salt
1/4 Cup Sugar
12 oz. of Beer your choosing, I've always used a Pale Ale or Honey Wheat
1/4-1/2 Cup Melted Butter

Preheat oven to 375
Mix ingredients together with spoon or your hands (it will be sticky), then put it in a well greased bread pan. Brush or ladle the butter over the bread & bake for 1 hour, transfer to cooling rack & let sit for 15 minutes before taking out of pan.
That's it, like I said..super simple!!!

Next is Sheila & I know she has something sweet for you!

THIS IS WHY I MIGHT LIKE DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING/GIVE AWAY!

Hi Everyone!

In yesterdays post I showed you my first ever digital layout, well when I looked back at the post I see that I made a BIG mistake. Yep, I put the wrong year! I haven't scrapbooked in a long time, but I can remember if I made a mistake & it was already tacked onto the layout, I had to try & delicately remove it & try again. There is also this stuff that I found called "undo", but it smelled sooo bad & lingered for sooo long, I hated to half to use it. Not trying to bad mouth it though, because it definitely works, just a little stinky.

So, with digital scrapbooking all I have to do is go back into that file & change the year with a press of a button! Howwww cool is that?! Now Brandon doesn't have to go back to being 14, he can remain 15 (though, I would love to turn back time!).

I almost wasn't going to change it, but I thought it would be a good learning lesson for me & show people how easy it is to fix your work!

Don't forget I have a BIG GIVE AWAY going on right now, just see the previous post & you can also see the whole layout.

MY FIRST TRY AT DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING & A GIVE AWAY!!!

Hi Everyone!
Happy Veterans Day! Today I wanted to share with you some Digital Scrapbooking I've done. Granted I'm a real newbie (1st time ever), I've always been intimidated by it & thought that they just stayed on your computer & you weren't able to use a real album, drrr all you have to do is print it! Well the nice people from "My Memories Suite" asked if I would like to try their Scrapbooking Software for free & give one away on my blog as well! Of course I said yes! Score for me & score for one of my followers. I will explain more about the give away a little later down in the post.

I watched a little video & just got to playing, it was pretty easy, granted I have a lot to learn, but they have lots of videos, etc to help you. So for my first project I decided to do a 2 pg layout, that is usually how I scrapbook, I like the pages to coordinate. I'm sure your going to be surprised that I didn't do a layout of the Gilbster, but I was looking through the pictures on my computer & found these 2 of Brandon that I loved. It's vary rare that I get a normal shot of him just smiling, usually he's making all kinds of goofy faces. Don't get me wrong, I like those as well, but when you get 2 smiling out of 50 goofy, you can understand what I mean. Even though he's a goofball he is almost 16, so I did ask his permission before posting these. :D He was totally fine with it. He & my hubby are my biggest fans-oh & Gilby of course. It's surprising to me how interested & encouraging he (Brandon) is when it comes to my crafts & blog, he's my sweet little Bubbaloo & I love him!!! (Yeah, he may not like that part). LOL
I used one of the free templates that My Memories has (they have a lot & they also have a store where you can purchase others for a very reasonable price). I did change it some some of the colors & textures to match the pictures better. It's soo cool, they have different textures of paper, embellishments, etc, I had no idea you could do all that with digital scrapbooking!
So, here are the 2 pgs I started out with
(for some reason I can't get them side by side)

and here they are after I got to changing the colors & added some texture
(BTW, there are more coordinating pages that go in this pack)

What do you think...pretty cool huh???!!! I really like how it turned out & it was easy peasy!!!

So, this is the dealio for the giveaway, all you have to do is go to their website My Memories.com take a look around then come back here & tell me out of all the themes, which one you would use the most, along with way to reach you. Of course Gilby & I would love for you to follow & or subscribe, but that's up to you we don't like to pressure you into following us. That's it, easy peasy once again!!! I'm going to keep this open for a week, so you have until Friday 11/18 11:59pm (PST) to enter. I will announce the winner either Saturday or Sunday.
BUT wait...there's more...as I said before the people over at My Memories Suite are very nice & don't want to leave anyone out, so they are offering $10 discount off the purchase of the My Memories Suite Scrapbook software and a $10 coupon for the My Memories.com store - $20 value!!! All you have to do is use the code in the upper right hand corner of my blog. There's no time limit on that either, so if you want to think about it & then decide you want to try it out, all you have to do is come back here to my blog & get that code! Again, easy peasy!!! "Ok, Wendy enough with the easy peasy...we get it", that's what you're thinking isn't it??? :D

Thanksgiving is almost here!

Hi Everyone!
Am I the only one who can't believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner? It just hit me today when I was scheduling a surgery for a patient, I said the same thing to her & then I couldn't get that out of mind. I eventually had to apologize because I just kept repeating it, I was stumped! LOL, luckily she understood.
I spoke to my youngest son, I should actually just call them by there names by now, huh? Well, I spoke with Brandon & was telling him that we wouldn't be seeing him until we pick him up for Thanksgiving break (thinking that it was a few weeks away). After having my "ah ha" moment, it turns out his break begins next Friday the 18th!!! I was freaking out & had to send him an e-mail, because I don't think he realized it either. We are both very happy that it's so soon, but with that being said, it still means that Thanksgiving is right around the corner & then Christmas...I am soo not ready for that!!!

Since Brandon's Dad & I are divorced, it's not my year for Thanksgiving, in fact I get him even less than normal because he will be going to Florida the following Monday. He's excited though because he will see relatives that he hasn't seen in a very long time AND he will be seeing his brother Brian!!! Very excited for both of them!!! Since his Dad will have him longer than usual we will make it up & I will get him longer at Christmas!!! I'm hoping that his brother will be here for Christmas as well, but hasn't wanted to commit just yet (new girlfriend and all). I will keep my fingies crossed & keep praying, since he is in the Air Force, and has been out of the Country mostly, we haven't had a Christmas together since 2007! :( If he's not here with us, at least he won't be in Afghanistan like last year!

Haven't done any crafting lately because I've been sick for over a week now, but I'm hoping to have something posted in the next day or so. I have been working on some organization that I will share soon as well.

Thanks for stopping by & letting me ramble away! LOL

WINNER OF CATTITUDE BLOG HOP

Hi Everyone!
Hope you all had a safe & fun Halloween night! We don't have any trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood, so it was just your average Monday night around here. I do have to say though that I got an e-mail from my son at school & he loved the Halloween goodies I sent him! Haven't heard back though if he shared the actual goody bags with his friends. ;) For those who didn't see what I sent him it's a couple posts down.

Now, to the winner of The Cattitude Blog hop is.... OCCricut, this is what she said-"Your cards are precious!! The simple one, I think, is my favorite!! I, too, try my hand at simple (because I seem to always try to do too much) and am surprised when simple is GREAT!!!
Hope Gilby is back to his healthy self!!"

Congrats OCCricut!!! Please e-mail me with your 411 so I can get the assortment of ribbon out to you!
Thanks for stopping by,

Hi Everyone!
