I'm finally back to share some crafting. Seems like it's been forever since I posted on my blog, the whole laptop crashing thing really threw me for a loop! It still has some issues, but at least it's up & working & I didn't have to pay a fortune to get it fixed!
Today, I thought I would share a special card I made for my sister (the one with Breast Cancer) or I should say HAD Breast Cancer!!! She finished her radiation last month & is Cancer Free!!! They still have to finish up the reconstruction & she has to be on Meds for 5yrs. As the little sis, I have always looked up to her, she has always been there for me with the best advice, she really has her life together. I knew she was strong, but it's just astonishing to me how strong she has been through this whole thing. I have been a mess coping with her cancer while she has been out there kicking it's but!!!
We went out for dinner a couple of weeks ago to celebrate, so I thought I would make her a card to commemorate her last day of radiation, March 26th. I was so happy that I had this set of stamps & die from Miss Emma over at MCT, it was perfect for this occasion!
Stamps-Whimsical Calendar Days - MCT
Die-XL Label- MCT
Flower (or attempt at it) Cricut-Flower Shoppe w/Liquid Pearls in the center
Pattern Cardstock-K&Company-Classic K Charlotte
I used Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress Ink to ink around everything including the ribbon.
I made the pin with jewelry supplies I had-Inspiration was from Shar over at Scrapendipity (she makes the prettiest pins!
After today's post I am no longer refer to my sister as the one with Brain Cancer or the one with Breast Cancer, I just don't like that. I'm going to call them Tammy & Tamara, that's kind of how it's been anyway, Tamara likes use that for business, etc. Tammy is the one with Breast Cancer & Tamara is the one with Brain Cancer.
I haven't been able to see Tamara since this whole thing started because she lives in CA & I live in VA, unfortunately I've just not been able to for financial reasons, but I'm hoping that will change soon. She is doing well with the Radiation & Chemo & is planning to go back to work in May, can you believe that?!!! She is a fighter & just as strong as Tammy! I still can't believe that I have 2 sisters who were diagnosed around the same time with different types of cancer & one has kicked it's butt & the other one who is in the final round & about to go for the knockout anytime now!!! I've literally been seeing the POWER of PRAYER work before my very eyes!!! We are so blessed & I just want to thank EVERYONE who have had them in your prayers!!!
Thanks for stopping by!
What a beautiful card and so thoughtful too!! I'm so glad your sisters are doing well!!!! Prayer is so powerful! And I'm glad to see you back!!! Missed ya!
