An Update on the Gilbster & Some Really Cute Pictures

Hi Everyone!
Thought I would give you an update on Gilby. Am very happy to say that he back to his perky little self, thank god!!! Not sure if everyone knew, but Gilby was a very sickly pup this past weekend, very high fever, shaking, & had very bad "D" leading up to the weekend. After 3 hrs or so & almost $400 later, the vet said he had pancreatitis, she changed his diet, gave him another antibiotic, pain meds & they injected fluids under his skin. The poor little guy wasn't himself & we had no idea that he was in pain, so of course we felt even worse for him! We took his temp through the weekend (he officially has his own thermometer now with his name on it) & it was down some by Sunday night. We had to take him back on Monday & the vet said to keep taking his temp & keep him on the pain meds until Wednesday & she would check him again then. Well, come Wednesday, no fever & our Gilby was back to normal yay!!!!!!!

He was on a special diet before all of this for a skin condition he has, it can get really bad & he is constantly licking the areas until they become infected & then he has to go on an antibiotic. Well since we changed his diet, the spots came back & the licking was really bad, so the vet gave us some new spray & said he had to wear a cone collar!!! :( He doesn't mind it now, think it's more of a mental thing for mommy & daddy, he looks so pathetic in that thing!
Gilby will probably be embarrassed, but I decided to share some pictures that I took of him last night with the cone on. The thing is even though he looks pathetic, he's also too cute!!! Don't feel bad if you laugh, last night when we were laughing we told him that we were laughing with him, not at him, don't think he understood though. ;)

One more thing, Gilby is a Schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle mix) & is hypo-allergenic, so people with dog allergies can be around him, but he has a bunch of allergies! What's up with that?!!! Just wondering, that's all.

"Why do I have to wear this stupid thing?!!!"
"I'm NOT happy about this!!!"
"Hey, quite laughing at me!!!"

"An upside down hat, are you kidding me?!!!"

This last one cracks me up!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Zeppy was like a bull in a china shop because he's 150lbs with a gigantic cone...dangerous!!! LOL Anyway, I'm so happy that Gilby's better!!! Thanks for letting us know!

  8. Awww.... Poor baby! :( I am glad he's feeling better, but that cone is funny. I laughed at the last photo. At least it's a stylish blue one rather than those old white ones.
